Shortly after Anistyn's 2nd birthday, Alysha became ill and could no longer care for Anistyn and children and youth moved Anistyn into the care of her maternal aunt and uncle. 4 days after her 3rd birthday, Anistyn was officially adopted by Alexis and David; Roseanne would occasionally make an appearance and make promises but would not follow through.
David and Alexis were both active military at the time of the adoption. David was a cyber operations officer and Alexis was a language officer. After Nicholas was born, the family moved into a home in TIerra Santa neighborhood of San Diego. The children attended local schools. She and Ethan continue to work with him and keep his skills sharp, mostly hunting squirrels and rabbits at this point, but it keeps him active.
